Independent Saints Gallery presents Raiments by Kido Deng and Hin Chan.

Kido Deng:
An award-winning student currently studying for his Bachelor of Fine Art, Fashion Major at Whitecliffe.

This collection is titled “Jama'at”and was inspired by Shirn Neshat's video installation “Soliloquy” and the exterior of the Sehzade Memed Mosque complex. Jama'at explores the ideology of contradictions: east and west, hard and soft, discipline and negligence, obscure and explicit, modern and traditional. Jama'at are a group of women with a communal manifesto.

Hin Chan:
A recent graduate from Auckland University of Technology in Fashion Design. This collection is titled “Isolated in the Dark”

These designs are mostly unisex -”I believe the world would be a more peaceful place if only one gender existed"... are the thoughts behind this collection.

The title “Isolated in the Dark" expresses this designer's desire to fascinate people through the sense of mystery and isolation.
