Dahlgaard and Harvey will collaborate to combine elements of their previous work in a new performance. They will test out notions of old fashion splatter performance artist, and so-called serious action art, more commonly associated with the 1960s and '70s, but twisted around into a contemporary bi-cultural blunder.

Dahlgaard and Harvey are interested in testing out how through physical actions and materiality idiocy can be productive and unproductive in its productivity. In doing this, they will attempt to draw up a conversation with the gallery space and the political and psychic relationships between their actions and their surrounding environment.

Mark Harvey is a performance artist, writer and researcher in performance art and live art and has shown extensively in international contexts.

Soren Dahlgaard is an artist based in Copenhagen. His practice ranges from installation to performance and actions with objects and humour is often a major aspect of his work.

Dahlgaard and Harvey are presenting a performance at Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts on Saturday 17 November, 2012.
