Two hour show of original songs and good time grooves, from indie, progressive new wave group "Traveling Lounge Room" and acoustic jazz blues funk inspired songwriter Midge McCleary.

The end of November will see good friends The Travelling Lounge Room and Midge McCleary team up for the Summer Sessions Tour, The Travelling Lounge Room are fresh from there three performances at the recent Manawatu Harvest Festival, which saw them open and close the event, with over 4000 people attending the day, While Midge McCleary is nearing the end of his latest tour promoting his ‘Love Bus’ CD.

The evening starts with Midge McCleary, armed with his acoustic guitar, and Bigfoot Stompbox, which he uses with alternative turnings, percussive rhythms, and funky progressions, to get his funky/blues style across. Midge’s performances are have been described as one-offs, with no two shows the same, which is the reason the both artists get on so well.

The Travelling Lounge Room then hit the stage, their original music being described as a real Kiwi band, with the influences of '80s bands like The Cure, The Clash, The Jam, and Madness, with the added blues and funky bass riffs, and lots of vocals. The Travelling Lounge Room are 3 piece team of Rowen Ellison, guitar and vocals, Rueben Mai, with his funky 5 string bass, and Scooter on drums and vocals. The Travelling Lounge Rooms more recent performances include adding special guests, such as well known national and international bluesman Bullfrog Rata, and Manawatu blues musican Rex Swansen. This shows the diversity of The Travelling Lounge Room team.

The show will finish with a collaboration of The Travelling Lounge Room and Midge McCleary, who knows what will come out on the night, maybe some quirky covers, or some blues funk jams, however it ends, you know it won’t be repeated. Look forward to seeing you all there and keep an eye on our web pages for regular updates. It's not just a gig, it's an event.
