Their debut single "Now" went on to score a top 1000 spot on the Rock FM's 2009 Rock 1000. This success propelled their live show allowing them to perform live on TV3 Sunrise and the Big Night In telethon as well as being selected to play the 2010 Big Day Out and The Bog Band Fest in Christchurch supporting Midnight Youth and Dane Rumble.

In mid 2010 the band embarked on their own winter tour, playing numerous packed out venues around the country. - Valedictions:
On return from London in 2009 Valedictions went into the studio to work on their bag of tricks and prepare for the release of their first single. With a strong start to 2010 they secured a spot at the “Big Day Out” and the “Big Night In” with “The Veils”, “Cairo Knife Fight” and “True Lovers”. With numerous other performances throughout the year they also joined the “Jordan Luck Band” on the end of their Month of May tour, impressing crowds with their full on live performance.

Their first single “Hey Lady” hit the airwaves mid year and was featured on the Rock FM “Off the Record” segment. With more time spent in the studio Valedictions are looking to get back out there and continue causing hearing loss to more keen punters.

They have just released their second single “Guilty Man” which is undeniably catchy and radio friendly, also featured on the Rock FM “Advanced Warning” segment and other stations.
