Mtown is a live professional dance band. Their energetic performance won't have you sitting down for long, with a line-up of 3 soulful singers supported by a funky rhythm section and sax.
Mtown plays regularly in the greater Wellington region, and has played at various festivals including Te Ra o Kupe, Creekfest, Ratana Pa Celebrations, Matariki Funk Night along with Ardijah and the 2008 Waitangi Day Celebrations at both Porirua (Festival Of The Elements) and Wellington (Waitangi Park).
The band was formed in 2004 with the intention of bringing back the sounds of the Motown era. Since then it has incorporated other genres such as disco, rock 'n' roll, funk, soul, old school and some Kiwi favourites.
All musicians are qualified and have a passion for music. They promise an inspiring & energetic performance that will have your feet tapping, your bodies grooving, your fingers clicking, your voices singing along as you reminisce the night away with songs by great artists such as Ardijah, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Renee Geyer, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, The Four Topps, Al Green, The Commitments plus many more.
Book Mtown today for your next festival, corporate function, wedding, party, 21st, school ball.
