The duo '2' – US artists Peter H. Bloom (flute) and Mary Jane Rupert (piano) – will perform a vivid chamber concert featuring 21st century works including 'Meta Music' and 'Nga Whetu e Whitu' by, respectively, New Zealand composers by John Rimmer and Gareth Farr, and 'Kleemation' (based on drawings of Paul Klee) by US composer Elizabeth Vercoe. The programme will also include Aaron Copland’s 'Duo' and Beethoven’s 'Adelaide Opus 46' with Variations.

In a collaboration spanning 20 years, Bloom and Rupert have appeared in venues across the globe, winning praise for “beautiful phrasing, consummate duet passages, and superb technical facility” (St. Andrews Performing Arts). Acclaimed for creative programming and interpretive flair, '2' performs newly composed works, music of the late 20th/early 21st centuries, and masterworks of the literature. '2' is based in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). Recent tours include concerts and master classes in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Salaya, Thailand. The duo’s 2011-2012 season features performances in New Zealand, Australia, and the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.
