Musicians Oleh and Liam O'Connell first met at The Catlins River Festival where amidst deep conversation on sustainability, a deepening consciousness with mother earth and the art of using loops and effects in music - they realised that whilst their music may come across as polar opposites they had both been travelling the same route.

Prior to This meeting of minds, Oleh (formerly of the Taliband) had been making waves in the Dunedin music scene with 2 EPs under his belt; "Homebrewed" and "Capturing the Uncatchable", along with playing at the now infamous underground Dunedin festival Feastock, the Canaan Downs Festival and many other local and national performances. Liam arrived in NZ in 2008 and by mid 09 had already recorded an album with punk rockers "Eddie Ledderhead". Around this time O'Connell formed His band "The Skitzofrantiks" who played their first three gigs in support of Motocade and The Veils as well as the Julian Temple Band. In 2010 they toured the South Island a number of times and released their EP "Look Between the Flames" Which led to them being filmed for CUE TV, along with performances at the Catlins River Festival and BriFest.

Since the Catlins Oleh has supported the likes of Taos, Left or Right and Operation Rolling Thunder. Liam Has been shifting his focus to his solo set along with dabbling in local bands Mama Yeva and Midnight Kitchen.

Oleh and Liam are now gearing up for their 'Conscious Loops' tour of the South Island. They will be playing gigs throughout March starting in Dunedin on the 7th and ending up in the Golden Bay area a couple of weeks later. The name of the tour says it all - conscious, clever music crafted live on the spot through the art of looping. Looping involves the use of live-sampling of sounds created by the artist, which are then played back in a loop and layered onto. The end product is the sound of many, created by one.

Though they are from different backgrounds and have different influences, the two come together to showcase their musical talents in a diverse and exciting show that is sure to impress. Liam's world music flavours and folky psychedelia contrast well with Oleh's bluesy reggae and electronica, which ensures that there is something for everyone's tastes in the mix.
