Olivier Latry, is organist at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and is considered one of the finest concert organists in the world today.

The concert marks the inaugural recital of the church’s new Willis Organ, a purpose built organ which includes remnants from the original St Matthew's Father Willis organ, and parts from a Father Willis organ in Scotland.

“The organ is the finest Willis instrument in the country and this solo performance of classical organ music will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the public to hear this famous musician play in the beautiful surrounds of St Matthew's,” said Rev. Glynn Cardy, Vicar of St Matthew's. “It will be a magical evening.

“The restoration of our organ completed a 15-year, multi-million dollar project to refurbish the interior and exterior of St Mathews, regarded as one the country’s finest Gothic churches.

“The organ was consecrated on St Matthews feast day last September, and this will be the first of what we hope will be many recitals by visiting organists.”
