Riding the Dun Mountain Railway.
Times: 10am Saturday 13th October. Riding times about 5-6 hours per day. Finish Café Affair Sunday 14th October about 5pm.
Guided overnight mountainbike ride for serious mountainbikers, taking in amazing terrain and scenery in the Richmond ranges. Ride 3 hours up New Zealand’s best uphill, Dun Mountain railway, to Coppermine saddle. Push 30 mins up to Dun Saddle. Take in the view, before descending 1 hour down technical single track to Rocks Hut. Relax overnight in the 16 bunk hut. Sunday, navigate difficult technical terrain to Browning Hut, about 5 hours. From there, it’s about 45 minutes out to Hackett Carpark, about 4pm, where we will have transport organised back to town.
Entry fee includes transport and hut fees.

More information: Riders must have overnight gear (see list here) and a reasonable quality mountainbike. Knee pads and flat pedals recommended. Riders must bring enough food for 2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast, as well as plenty of energy foods.
Greg is an experienced mountainbiker, and an experienced guide. This is his third year guiding these types of rides.
