After a sell out season, one more show has been added.

Part Time Prostitute, the secret life of a Wellington hooker, is a doco-comedy premiering at the 2012 Fringe Festival that challenges the popular myths of the sex industry. Myths like: most men only want to cuddle and talk, or that secrets of national security are whispered within the brothel walls.

The truth is far more interesting. In two years of working as a prostitute, writer/director Lucy Johnson has experienced first hand and documented her experiences of sex work. Her show has a genuine and edgy quality, Lucy is current working prostitute who wants to share her experiences, and answer the questions she has before she started working 2 years ago.

New Zealand is a unique environment, we have some of the most progressive sex work laws in the world and decriminalisation since 2003. Brave people like Georgina Beyer and organisations like the New Zealand Prostitutes Collective have been central in changing public perception. Yet prostitution is still an industry that is very hidden. The portrayal of sex work in the media has a tendency to either glamorise or vilify the industry by depicting prostitutes as either high class call girls, courtesans and escorts or street walkers connected with drugs and crime.

Part Time Prostitute sold out a 4 night season at The Fringe Bar in Cuba Street, and is back for one more show.
