The author, television personality and chef will be telling tall stories, ironing out the agonising problems of your life, sautéeing up a storm, singing of lost love and explaining how egg whites can transform your life.

Peta has been presenting her food and travel television shows, writing food books and hosting gastronomic tours for many years. Her latest trio of books focus on social commentary and relationships. And for the first time she is putting it all together in a stage show! Fasten your seat belts for a great night out!

You’ve read her books… you’ve seen her on the telly… now get ready to experience Peta Mathias in a live one-woman show!

Peta Mathias is an esteemed Kiwi identity… a woman of wit, wisdom and wicked humour, with whom audiences connect, via their own life experience and their hearts. After countless book tours, cooking classes and corporate appearances it’s high time Peta toured the country with her very own show! From nurse, to drug and alcohol therapist, to singer, Parisian chef, and her current incarnation as an author, television personality, international culinary tour host, Peta’s lived, loved and has the stories to share. With subject matter ranging from travel to relationships, sex, food, fashion and the whys and wherefores of just being human, she is quite simply a force of nature… and she’s thrilled to be sharing her talents on the stage!

Peta’s kicking it all off in March/April 2012 with shows in five lower South Island centres… Timaru, Oamaru, Wanaka, Invercargill and Dunedin. Get ready for a great night out complete with…

- Storytelling. Anyone who has attended one of Peta’s book-launches, cooking classes, or corporate functions will know she is a hugely entertaining and informative speaker. And after her new book called “Beat till Stiff”, she has provocative and thought provoking stories of transformation just begging for an audience. Accompanied by filmed and photographed material from Peta’s latest TV shows and culinary adventures, Peta will also speak about the odyssey that is filming a TV series’ and about her culinary tours, on which the shows are based.

- Cooking. With her characteristic flair, Peta will whip up something delicious on-stage.

- Agony. Peta was once a professional therapist and guidance councillor and now writes an “Agony Aunt” column for the Dominion Post newspaper. The show will feature a therapist’s couch and the opportunity for audience participation! Submit your problem for straight talking advice to

- Singing. Anyone who’s ever heard Peta’s versions of Edith Piaf songs will know she can indeed move listeners to tears. Expect some wonderful renditions.

- Fabulous fashion! With her renowned extravagant style, the show will feature Peta in some spectacular frocks… and what a great excuse for the audience to dress up too!

- Bubbles. Who can resist? To go with the evening a complementary glass of bubbles is essential. Thanks to The Arrogant Frog!
