Stand up paddle clinic, yoga and teams relay race.

The Starboard Paddle For Hope is a fun, annual festival of Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) devised by breast cancer survivor Karin Horen. We're turning the sea pink on Saturday 27th October with an introductory SUP Clinic and SUP Yoga, then fifty teams of four paddlers in pink fancy dress will race around a fised buoy course in the Western Viaduct Harbour to raise $30,000 and to promote the role of exercise in health, wellbeing and rehabilitation.

The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation has endorsed the Starboard Paddle For Hope as part of its national fundaising activity in international breast cancer action month 'Pink October'. The money we raise this year will help fund breast-cancer recovery programmes like the YWCA Encore programme, a nationwide water-based programme for post-surgery rehabilitation. Out longer-term goal is to develop a SUP rehabilitation programme especially designed for women (and men) recovering from breast cancer.

To paddle for hope here's and help the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation what you need to do:
1. Enter - Team Entry is by donation of $50 per person. SUP Clinic $20.
2. Find a Team Sponsor - Corporate Sponsorship of your team is worth $300.
3. Fundraise - ask your family and friends for support on Everyday Hero.

If any of your potential team have never paddled before, please come along to one of the four free introductory clinics at Mission Bay, every Thursday in October, anytime from 3pm.

We can provide a board and paddles for you to use at the clinics (and also the relay if you let us know you need one).

The Paddle For Hope will take place on the Karanga Plaza steps in the Wynyard Quarter.

10-12pm: Board Drop off and Registration;
12pm: SUP Clinic;
1pm: Free SUP Yoga;
2pm: Teams Relay Race;
3:30pm: Prizegiving at Marvel Grill.

Prizes will be awrded for best costumes, top fundraisers and performance on the water. We're targeting $30k but let's see if we can raise even more.

Please register for the clinic and race online now at the website and start fundraising!
