Great night of national entertainment happening on the coast. Bands from Aucks, Wgtn and of course local.

Murray Haddow and the Ludd Gang will travel from Grey Lynn to headline the evening. From Wellington, the Grossburgers come to fill your ears with new sounds and from our local talent pool we have the nationally rated Shayn Hurricane Wills to fire you up and the Kapiti ska outfit Skapiti.

Murray Haddow and The Ludd Gang

The Ludd gangs of the 1800s were individual groupings of Luddites, who were actively opposed to political and economic modernisation which was the beginnings of the “profits before people” business ethos. Murray Haddow’s bunch of old-fashioned geezers fit in so well with this, that the name is suitably fitting.

The Ludd Gang’s blend of old-hat '70s rock and reggae will upset your apple cart quite nicely, especially when Murray gets going. Murray is a popular mad cap poet who is renowned for his off-beat stage antics, and is up front for the band. The Hammond organist and drummer are true-blue old groover specialists. The bass player is a left-over hippie who still has long hair and lives out on the land up the Coromandel. The guitarist (a transient bum and general no-good) and Mad Murray from Auckland make for a truly ‘entertaining’ evening.

Grossburger

“There’s only one burger in town – and it sure ain’t McDonald’s”

Yes. It’s always a day when the roof comes down when Grossburger comes to town. Led by the well-known 6 foot 5 Captain Hua Man, Grossburger bring their proudly awful garage rock to The Waterfront Bar on Oct 20th.

Vocals - The Captain
Guitar - Pete Burger
Keyboards - Geoff Burger
Drums - Dave Burger
No Bass Bass Burger (left the band to travel overseas and become an insurgent)
