24 years in London's West End - now the most terrifying live theatre experience comes to Palmerston North for a strictly limited season.

'The Woman in Black', adapted from the book by English author Susan Hill, tells the story of Arthur Kipps, a junior solicitor, as he journeys to a small market town to attend the funeral of a client, Mrs Alice Drablow. At the funeral, he sees a young woman with a wasted face, dressed all in black, standing in the churchyard.

Bemused by the villagers' reluctance to speak of the woman in black, Arthur goes to Eel Marsh House, Mrs. Drablow's former abode, an old building in the middle of a marsh, cut off at high tide. Sorting through Mrs Drablow's papers, he finds a box of letters, and ultimately discovers the dreadful secret of the Woman in Black - to his own terrible cost.

"The Woman in Black is one of the most exciting, gripping and successful theatre events ever performed."

Brought to Palmerston North as a collaboration between ThorneStar Productions (The History Boys, Equus) and Manawatu Theatre Society (Buddy) 'The Woman in Black' stars Globe Award-winner Chris Martin and fellow 'History Boy' Simon Herbert. This stunning night at the theatre is directed by Damian Thorne - recently acclaimed for his performance in 'Chess'.

Special $20 Wednesday shows at 6:30pm (plus booking charges) - hurry, these will sell quickly.
