Taupō Museum is excited to be exhibiting the work of Tracey Tawhiao, one of New Zealand’s most multi-skilled contemporary artists.

Tracey is a poet, filmmaker, writer, qualified lawyer and visual artist. Her poetry has been published in anthologies, journals and art books and studied in New Zealand Literature at Auckland University, UCLA and at the University of Hawaii.

Tracey exhibits and sells her visual work nationally and internationally and recently exhibited in Paris. She is well known for her works on newspaper that easily manipulate the news.

Tawhiao’s tribal affiliations are Ngai Te Rangi, Tuwharetoa and Whakatohea and she works on a variety of projects in differing roles as a Director of Heartmusic and the House of Taonga which specialise in supporting contemporary Māori artistry.

Tracey will be at Taupō Museum to share her works with the public on the following dates:
Thurs 12th April opening: 5.30pm
Fri 13th April: 1-2pm
Sat 14th April: 1-2pm
Sun 15th April: 1-2pm
