Now in its fourth year, the course is designed to assist writers who want to develop the first draft of a novel, collection of short stories, or autobiography. This course is almost always full, so book soon! We offer a creative, collegial environment in which to develop and hone your writing. In workshops and tutorials you will be encouraged to develop your distinctive writing voice, extend your characters and explore story structure. Weekly two-three-hour sessions are chaired by author and facilitator John Cranna. Students are assigned a personal mentor who is an established NZ fiction author, and a number of leading NZ writers, including Sarah Laing, Tessa Duder, and Roger Hall conduct craft workshops on the course.
Two x 12 week semesters, plus one-on-one mentoring over summer.
