Coming to Hamilton as the third leg of their North Island tour, 'Parisian Pipes' is also part of the 2013 Hamilton Fringe Festival. The French inspired concert features the director of music from Auckland's Holy Trinity Cathedral, Timothy Noon combining with New Zealand's trumpet soloist, Bill Stoneham. The afternoon will not only be a 'Tour de France' but a 'Tour de force' as two of the most regal instruments combine. With a strong emphasise on French romanticism the pair will make full use of the well suited, eclectic and versatile organ of St. Peter's Cathedral.
The programme will feature the compositional styles of vibrant Tomasi, delicate Couperin, passionate Ravel and the darkness of Berlioz, ending with Naji Hakim's celebrated sonata for trumpet and organ.
