Riccarton Players offering of 'A Weekend Threesome' comprises three one act plays, two of which are brand new, locally written scripts which are being staged for the first time.

'The Joke' by Glen Clark, directed by Fiona Bennetts.

~ An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman walked into a bar Or did they?
Three mates find themselves in a jail cell after a big night out watching the rugby. The only problem is, no-one can remember exactly why they are there. And what happened to their All Black jerseys? It all sounds like some sort of bad joke.

'Darkness of the Night' by Dave Mitchell, directed by Dave Mitchell.

Dames! Trouble I thought I could handle. Not the first guy to make that mistake!
You can't judge a book by its cover. A cliche driven 'film noir' which will answer the question. Why?

'Post Its - notes on a marriage' by Paul Dooley & Winnie Holzman, directed by Alexandra Le Cocq.

Shopping List: Milk, Soup for one, Scotch for one, Inflatable Doll. Scotch for two.
A couple read the Post-It notes that span the duration of their lives together. Hilarious and moving, Post-Its explores the ups and downs of a relationship that were unexpectedly captured on scraps of paper.

'A Weekend Threesome' opens at The Open Stage Theatre at Hagley College, 510 Hagley Avenue on Saturday July 20th and runs for two consecutive weekends - Saturday and Sunday evenings only - for a total of four performances (7.30pm - July 20th, 21st, 27th & 28th).
Running time approx 90 minutes
