As part of getting ready to go to the USA and Canada with the New Zealand Youth Choir in November this year, Madison Nonoa and Phillip 'Akau are putting together a Fundraising Concert. We are excited to be joined by Edward McKnight and accompanied by the wonderful Liam Wooding.

The tickets will be $10, however, anyone under the age of 15 is free! Door sales only/cash only.

We warmly invite our friends and family, friends of family and anyone who may enjoy a night of classical, operatic and musical theatre music to come and support us - we'd love to see as many of you there as possible!

For those who may not know us that well:

Phillip Akau is a Sir Edmund Hillary Scholar at the University of Waikato and a Tenor in the NZ Youth Choir. He is Tongan and raised predominantly in Auckland. He attended Dilworth High School and was the 2013 winner of the Hamilton Competitions Society Premier award.

Madison Nonoa is from the University of Auckland and is a Soprano in the Youth Choir. She is the the winner of the Waikato Young Performer of the year award for 2013 and is also the Associate Artist with the Hamilton Civic Choir. Madison is a past pupil of Hamilton Girls' High.

Edward McKnight is originally from Taranaki, a fellow Dilworth School Old Boy and current third year vocal student at the University of Waikato. He had a principal role in the 2013 University production of The Magic Flute and was a member of the NZ Opera School this year in Wanganui.

Pianist Liam Wooding is a third year scholarship student at the University of Auckland. Liam is a busy teacher and student in Auckland; he was also placed 2nd at the prestigious University of Auckland Concerto Competition.

The programme is mainly operatic, however there will be something for everyone :-)
