Bill McKibben, award-winning author, journalist, one of the world's most respected speakers and activists on climate change, and co-founder of global movement, returns to New Zealand from 11-13 June as part of his global Do The Maths tour.

Join us at The Embassy on Thursday, 13 June, 7pm-8.30pm (The talk will begin promptly at 7pm, please arrive a bit beforehand to find your seat, The Embassy cafe and bar will be open as usual.)

A climate change’s maths lesson that might just change the world.
The maths are simple: we can burn less than 565 more gigatons of carbon dioxide and stay below 2°C of warming — anything more than that risks catastrophe for life on earth. The only problem? Fossil fuel corporations now have 2,795 gigatons in their reserves, five times the safe amount. And they’re planning to burn it all — unless we stop them.

In November 2012, Bill McKibben and hit the road in the USA to build a movement strong enough to change the terrifying math of the climate crisis. The Do the Math Tour was a massive success, with sold out shows in every corner of the US.

Now they are taking the tour global and Bill McKibben is coming to New Zealand!
