Kerry Castell-Spence of Chinese Medical and Manual Therapy will lead a workshop on finding and maintaining connections to your centre and the ground. As a manual therapist Kerry uses Qigong to help you become aware of the obstacles to being happy and the blockages in your body. This takes you on a journey through your body and into an exploration of the connection between mind and body, and the individual and the universe.

Why do we need to find our centre and the ground? If we describe someone as centered or grounded, we are talking about their ease with themselves and the world. In a state of mental ease, we are able to find physical, mental and emotional clarity. We are also less like to suffer from ill health or injuries. This ease can be achieved when our physical bodies are balanced and aligned. Through Qigong we can find and maintain this balance.

In this class Kerry will teach some practical techniques and a simple practice to help you feel your centre and the ground and give you a feeling of when you lose it. This will be introduced by some basic theory common to all Qigong as well as a context for the practice and its relationship to Yoga.

This Workshop will be of interest to those who are looking to find, or deepen their connection to their centre and who are interested in what it means to be grounded - in yoga, but also in other movement, martial arts, or meditation practices. The techniques taught can be applied to any situation or environment, making them a useful basis for a mindful practice of everyday life.

Hot Yoga Auckland is on the corner of Broadway and Khyberpass Road (Above Nood). Book early as places are limited.
