UNICEF NZ is launching the photography exhibition ‘Christchurch: See through my eyes,’ designed to share children’s views of the devastating Canterbury earthquakes.

Twenty four 11-14 year old students from 17 Christchurch schools that were affected by the earthquakes took part in two training workshops in September. What came out of these workshops and the two weeks that followed was a series of rich and emotive photographs that illustrate life after the disaster.

It is important that we hear from children who have lived through the initial horror of the earthquakes and continue to live in an ever changing city. The photography project gives the opportunity for children to share their voice on ways earthquake has changed their lives and how it continues to affect their family and community.

Supported by UNICEF, UNESCO, Rotary New Zealand, and Canon.
