The amazing Mr Small returns to CJC with his own boundary blurring project, joined by Jono Wilson (drumset), Johnny Fleury (stick) and MC Chinga Style.

Stephen Small studied jazz with Ian Marcus (flute/saxophone) in London in the early nineties after completing undergraduate studies in classical piano at the Guildhall School of Music. The thrust of this study was learning standard repertoire but with a determined focus on composition. Of no lesser significance has been years of playing rock, funk, soul, reggae and anything you can imagine in a variety of contexts.

Stephen arranges and produces studio recordings, most recently an album for pop singer Jamie McDell (EMI). He is a member of rock bands Autozamm and the Verlaines, moonlights with Opshop and accompanies many vocalists across a range of genres.

A keyboard geographist at heart, Stephen views all contemporary music as without boundaries, rather using the piano to bind them together.
