We are sorry to advise that Sonja Radojkovic will not be able to travel to New Zealand due to ill health. Fortunately pianist Jason Bae has agreed to present a superb programme for us on 9th May.

Beethoven - Sonata Op. 10 No. 2
Ravel - Gaspard de la Nuit
Chopin - Mazurkas Op. 59
Rachmaninov - Piano Sonata No.2 Op. 36

Born in South Korea in 1991, emerging piano star Jason Bae is a talent to watch. In 2008, Jason was awarded 1st Prize in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York, which gained him a performance at the Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall. In the same year, he won the New Zealand Young Performer of the Year. In 2009, he won 2nd Prize at the Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition in Brisbane, Australia, where he also received the prize for the best performance of a work by Chopin. In 2010 he won the University of Auckland Gala Concerto Competition, performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No 1. Now only 20 years of age, Jason recently competed in the prestigious Dublin International Piano Competition, graduating to the second round.

Jason made his recital debut in Auckland in 2012, and has performed widely as a concerto soloist with orchestras including the 2010 NZSO National Youth Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane. He is currently studying towards his Bachelor of Honours in piano performance at the University of Auckland with Rae de Lisle.

Memberships and season flexi-tickets available at our website. School children accompanying a paying adult do not require an admission ticket. All concerts are "general admission" so please arrive in time to get a good seat - doors open around 20 minutes before.

Presented in association with Chamber Music New Zealand.
