Dutch Wellington, a solo exhibition by Helena Sofia de Kok
Dutch Wellington is an exploration and celebration of Dutch culture in the capital, by local photographer Helena Sofia de Kok.

As part of a long-term national project, this photos series includes the stories and portraits of Dutch immigrants, from new arrivals to well established members of our community, as well as Dutch influences on Wellington's landscapes.

There are an estimated 150,000 people of Dutch descent in New Zealand, largely known as the 'invisible Dutch'. Helena aims to use photography to highlight and strengthen the Dutch community in New Zealand and to promote cultural diversity.

The project is supported by the Wellington City Creative Communities Scheme and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is part of the 'Dutch Dayz' festival.

About Helena Sofia de Kok
Helena is a Wellington-based Dutch photographer specialising in documentary portraiture and lifestyle photography, with a focus on community issues and diversity.
