Buy a ticket to the movie fundraiser 'Half the Sky' and help empower women and girls.

Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide is inspired by book of the same name, written by the New York Times columnist, Nicholas Kristof, and his wife, Sheryl WuDunn.

This documentary introduces women and girls who are living under some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable in Somaliland, India and Kenya, and fighting bravely to change them. Traveling with intrepid reporter Nicholas Kristof are celebrity advocates America Ferrera, Diane Lane, and Olivia Wilde. The film reflects viable and sustainable options for empowerment and offers an actionable blueprint for transformation.

We will following the screening with a panel discussion addressing issues raised by the movie and how we can collectively contribute to the movement.

Half the Sky is brought to you by Eyes Wide Open, a collaboration between the Global Volunteer Network and Daya Trust - two New Zealand charities working to empower women and girls.
