Stories from 120 Years of Percussion in Christchurch.

Percussionist Brett Painter is the great grandson of Joshua Painter – co-founder of Christchurch’s Professional Bicycle Band which was formed in 1895. In this illustrated lecture Brett will share stories of musical exploits from then 'til now, for one night ignoring the saying "What happens on tour stays on tour..."

Brett is the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Percussionist and chair of the Pandemonium Charitable Trust. He is kept busy running Pandemonium Percussion and the BeThere Bicycle Band - a reformation of his great grandfather’s iconic group from nearly 120 years ago.
