This New Year's Eve, why contend being stuck at home with a party hat and the obligatory party streamer when, instead, you could ring in 2014 with the incredible talents of Goodshirt, Voom, Mulholland and The Pencils?

Well... why?

The Portland Public House, Kingsland's newest home for live music and obscene amounts of fun, see fit to make sure that 2013 goes out in style with four of New Zealand's most beloved bands taking party goers on a part-nostalgia trek and a part “shape of things to come”. Having dropped a cheeky EP earlier this year (Skinny Mirror), Goodshirt celebrate their return to writing and recording with this very limited-capacity show.

With their long time BFF's Voom, expect the pair to play some old favourites and a tastier of new works to come – while Voom have been laying low, Buzz Moller and cohorts have been writing new material and, akin to Goodshirt, have new songs for their 2014 adventures.

The two bands are joined by celebrated song-writer Jol Mulholland a.k.a Mullholland, who not only is an incredibly accomplished musician and songwriter in his own right but boasts an impressive catalogue as a producer. The line up is completed with the newly formed The Pencils, featuring former members of Flying Nun stalwarts' Birds Nest Roy and Superette – both of which have seen or about to see reissues through the iconic Kiwi label very shortly.

With DJ Ray Nugget, the promise of yet more guests to be announced over the next few weeks and Portland Public House becoming more of a hotspot for emerging and established musical talent to frequent in Auckland, why not acquaint or re-acquaint yourself with four acts that have shaped New Zealand musical landscape for the better over the past two decades?

Pre sale tickets: $20
Available the old fashioned way – by purchasing them at the venue.
