Presenting award winning fiddler Marian Burns and Friends in an Irish extravaganza of frenzied playing, with the occasional slow ballad thrown in while we all catch our breath! This Irish variety show comes with a health warning: “Fast paced Irish music may bring on uncontrollable bouts of fun and joy”.

‘If you’re Irish, come into the parlour...’ goes the ever popular song and as everyone loves Irish music we invite you all to pop in. Grab something green and skip along to this Irish themed toe tapping wonderful new show from the award-winning Daytime Concert Series, with favourite Irish tunes including Phil the Fluter’s Ball, That’s an Irish Lullaby, McNamara’s Band and I’ll take thee home again – to name a few.

Led by the ever popular Marian Burns with Operatunity Director John Cameron and guest artists Alex Milligan, Ben McDonald and Imogen Thirlwall, accompanied by Irish band.

Marian Burns and her trusty violin have been fiddling their way across the world at 100 miles an hour, from the top of the Eiffel Tower to the bottom of the Grand Canyon with the Blarney Castle and the Grand Ole Opry in between. Marian has been taking the world by storm with her exuberance and passion for music. This dynamic New Zealand artist is racking up awards faster than her version of the Orange Blossom Special (and that’s fast!) taking home New Zealand’s prestigious ‘Benny Award’ at the 2012 Variety Artists Awards, Australia’s ‘Best Fiddler as a Soloist’ at the 2013 Golden Fiddle Awards and presented with the ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ upon celebrating 40 years of playing the violin.
