A six session course on Tuesday evenings 7-9pm starting 29 October. Your tutor, Malcolm Ali is a Materials Technology teacher at Selwyn College.

Learn how to do basic MIG welding with materials like mild steel and square tubings, and how to weld different types of joints together. This course is only designed for beginner level welding students and will only include MIG welding. Suitable for those with no welding experience.

You will learn how to set up the machine and safety around it, how to use the large range of supporting equipment (brushes, sanders, grinders, etc.) and processes that comes with welding. As a project you will make a small side table with a ceramic tile top.Bring a dust coat or an overall and a safety boot to protect your skin from any sparks. This is not a certified course.

Limited to 6 per class. If this class fills, and there is sufficient interest, we will look into setting up another class.
