This superb exhibition is heading your way - by train!

A powerful KiwiRail engine is pulling new scenic carriages and four themed containers, each packed with fascinating displays about rail in New Zealand.

Stopping at Wellington Railway Station, there will be family fun, prizes and giveaways.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome, so don't miss Keeping NZ On the Move.

Heritage trains on show:
Steam Incorporated will display a 1956 coal fired steam locomotive and a 1957 disel electric 146 “Da” class locomotive.

Silver Stream Railway will have their PWD531 locomotive on display.

Carriages on display:
AA1267 built at Newmarket Workshops in 1909.
AA1769 built at Otahuhu in 1932.
AL1917 although built at Otahuhu in 1939.

Other activities:
Rimutaka Incline Railway will have a display that informs visitors about their Maymorn, Upper Hutt based attractions.

Come and see one of the heavy machinery vehicles we use to maintain the railway network, and talk with an operator.

Talk with our Safety Team about keeping safe near the track.

Celebrate 150 years of rail in New Zealand by meeting with two businesses KiwiRail works with in Wellington: Mainfreight and the Greater Wellington Regional Council.

150th Rail Anniversary memorabilia items will be on sale inside the KiwiRail Scenic passenger carriages. Come and buy a piece of history.
