Come share the resources, skills, knowledge, talents and achievements we have gathered since Matariki last graced our skies.
We aim to celebrate and inform all Hauraki communities about the significance of Matariki to our cultural well being as well as celebrating our collective strength and cohesiveness to heal whanau violence in Hauraki.
The launch of Green Poi Week is the signature event and will include a day and evening event.
The free Day Event from 10.45am - 3pm starts with an "On the Couch" session to discuss key messages. Guest speakers include Charles Royal, Aroha Hathaway followed by rolling galleries and workshops. This day aims to be fun and informative.
The Night Event, starting from 6pm, is full of entertainment from local musos Simon Donald, Eden Tuisaula, Jamie McCaskill, Kali Kopae, Peter Plumb, Ian Kaka, Charles Royal and others. We will also be holding a live debate with selected panelists, reflecting on discussions of the day. The evening promises to be a fantastic celebration of Matariki and launch our very first Green Poi Week (Healing whanau violence in Hauraki).

Kei te poi ki te korero, ka whiua te poi, ka puta te korero, ka whiua te poi, ka puta te kupu.
(The poi tells us what's happening. When the poi is in motion the story unfolds, when the poi is in motion, the world is explained)
