Course schedule for August - December 2013:

Healing Relationships (8 Steps to Happiness)
9 weeks: August 19 - October 18
Based on the much loved Buddhist poem - 8 Verses of Training the Mind, this course will look at practical methods for transforming all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights, for improving our relationships, and for bringing greater patience, empathy and compassion into our daily life.

Heart of Wisdom - Emptiness
6 weeks: November 11 - December 20
“Emptiness is the way things exist as opposed to the way they appear. Although things appear directly to our senses to be truly, or inherently, existent, in reality all phenomena lack, or are empty of, true existence.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Modern Buddhism
In this course, discover this profound Buddhist knowledge of the truth of phenomena, emptiness. Emptiness simply means how all things actually exist rather than how things appear to be. With emptiness as a foundation of reflection on our personal experiences, you have a great opportunity to sort out your source of pain and suffering and to find your own source of unlimited happiness and permanent liberation.
This course will be followed with a guided emptiness retreat in Otaki.
