The SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Information Management course is designed to provide training in how to implement Extract, Transform and Load (ETL), Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality Assurance (DQA) solutions using Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

This two day instructor-led training course forms part of the Microsoft BI Academy programme. While this training course forms part of the Microsoft BI Academy program, there are no requirements to complete all training courses, or to attend them in any specific order.

All training courses in the Microsoft BI Academy program are two days in duration, and have been specifically designed to enable students to quickly commence developing and maintaining state-of-the-art integrated Business Intelligence (BI) solutions developed by using Microsoft products.

Each training course consists of theory, demonstrations and numerous hands-on labs that will provide students with the opportunity to understand the full potential of the Microsoft BI platform and gain invaluable experience through hands-on interaction.

After completing this training course, students will be able to:

Translate business requirements into effective data warehouse design
Use SQL Server Integration Services to implement Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions
Use SQL Server Master Data Services to implement Master Data Management (MDM) solutions
Use SQL Server Data Quality Services to implement Data Quality Assurance (DQA) solutions

Audience
The Microsoft BI Academy program has been designed for a broad array of professionals, including IT managers, IT professionals, developers and business analysts.

Apart from having a basic understanding of database technologies, there are no specific technology or product prerequisites.

About the Instructor
Peter Myers has worked with Microsoft database and development products since 1997. Today, he specializes in all Microsoft BI products and provides mentoring, technical training, and training course content authoring for SQL Server, Office, and SharePoint. Peter has a broad business background supported by a Bachelor’s degree in applied economics and accounting, and he extends this with solid experience backed by current MCSE and MCT certifications. He continues to work directly with Microsoft in Redmond producing training content, and continues to present at major SQL Server conferences, including TechEd and the PASS Summit. He has been awarded Most Valued Professional (MVP) by Microsoft for SQL Server since 2007.

Certification
This training course was not specifically designed to prepare students for a Microsoft certification. However, the content delivered in this training course will serve as a useful resource for introducing theory, products and best practice design patterns that are tested by the Microsoft certification exams.
