Miho’s Jazz Orchestra invites you on a musical journey through the Wanderland, a collection of original jazz tunes with an international flavour. Join us for a fun evening of feel-good music on February 23rd at Alléluya Café in the heart of St Kevin’s Arcade, as part of Auckland Fringe 2013.

Prolific and highly acclaimed flautist Miho Wada has performed internationally with artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Iggy Pop, and members of Buena Vista Social Club. Described as one of the most entertaining jazz acts in New Zealand, Miho’s Jazz Orchestra fuses Miho’s original style of “Afro-Cuban flute meets J-Pop” with players from different genres - an eccentric funky electric violin, deep and moving classical cello, warm Brazilian bass, acoustic folk guitar, and stylish jazz drums.

From sexy groovy tunes to nostalgic melancholy melodies, the music of Wanderland takes its inspiration from snippets and snapshots of life in a multicultural city, composed during Miho’s walks with her puppy around the suburbs, parks and beaches of Auckland.

Romantic and badass all in one, Miho’s dynamic pocket-sized Jazz Orchestra will keep everyone dancing and waltzing, from toddlers to the young at heart. Come and experience a musical "wander" with us!

“Wada is the real deal when it comes to a world class flautist”
Brent Black, Critical Jazz, U.S.A. (Aug 2012)

“Punk-ninja flautist Miho Wada, who consistently sounds like no one else on the jazz scene”
Bird Is The Worm, All About Jazz, U.S.A. (July 2012)
