We're on the move!
Saint Paul's Cooperating Church is excited to be making the Kaurihohore Historic Church our main base!
- the outside of the church is painted - thanks to community corrections
- the lounge is made beautiful and cosy - thanks to John and Bev Manderson
- new heaters and lights are being installed
- parking has been improved
- a toilet is available - thanks to Cowley's hire
- a piano has been moved in and tuned for concerts
- a new organ is installed - thanks to Janice for playing it most Sundays
- worship will take place here every Sunday - thanks to our Minister Martin Dickson and team of lay preachers who add variety to our Sundays
- Mainly Music for preschoolers is starting up, every Thursday in term time - thanks to Rosalie Gwilliam, Eleanor Ashby and a team of hosts.
More Ideas? You are very welcome to contribute your passion (e.g. music, flowers, art, writing) to our worship. And there are plenty of opportunities for other community event ideas to be made real at Kauri as well. Just phone our minister Martin for a chat: 09 4591967
Our sunday worship follows a traditional format, with both traditional and new hymns and prayers. Children are welcome to participate in their own way or do activities at the back of the church. The sermon is a reflection on how the Christian traditions might be applied in our lives as we find ourselves here and now. We won't tell you what to think or believe, and respect you enough to suggest new ways of looking at things.
Oh - and we hang about for a cup of tea or coffee afterwards - juice available for those who prefer. Yes, we do need offerings to keep our church going, so please think about what you might spend if you go to a café for an hour, but don't let being short of cash stop you joining us.
Our spirituality is important to us, though we're not too formal, liking to share a bit of what's going on in our lives during the service. We are a welcoming church, where the presence or participation of anyone is welcome.
