Up With People presents: Nashville Babylon at King Street Live. Live music from John The Baptist, Miles Calder, DJ Brother Lee Love.

New Zealand's premier country club makes a return to Wairarapa on November 16th with live music and guest DJ.

The Nashville Babylon club-night was first launched in the late 1990s in Soho in London as a spin-off of top indie label Loose Music (The Handsome Family, Felice Brothers, Neko Case, Giant Sand) and soon became a fixture on the capital's live scene thanks to it's eclectic mix of bands and DJs and surprise guest appearances from big-name musicians. From London it popped up in Glasgow, Manchester and Dublin and made it's NZ debut back in June at King Street in Masterton.

It's back in business at King Street Live on November 16th with an appearance from Wairarapa favourites John The Baptist and special guest Miles Calder.

Wellington's John The Baptist are regular performers as a duo in town - opening up for the likes of Don McGlashan and The Handsome Family but for this show they'll be back over with the full band, the first time local audiences will have seen the whole line-up play since their show-stealing slot on the Gunslingers Ball. Their latest ep has received rave reviews both at home and abroad with coverage from premier UK rock magazine Uncut and regular plays on BBC 6 Music.

Miles Calder is another Wellington native and is normally seen gracing the capital's stages with his band The Rumours but for the this show he'll be playing a stripped-down acoustic set of country-tinged songs that feature on their Ryan Prebble recorded debut album The Crossing Over.
