The inner voices of the New Zealand String Quartet, Douglas Beilman (violin) and Gillian Ansell (viola), present two masterpieces, one from the Baroque and one from the high Romantic era.

Douglas plays Bach's grand solo Sonata no. 1 in g minor, so often heard in student exams but so rarely heard in concert. Gillian, with beloved friend and former NZSM staff member, pianist extraordinaire, Diedre Irons, performs Brahms' lyrical, autumnal Sonata in E flat for viola and piano.

The New Zealand String Quartet are artists in residence at NZSM.

Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music hosts a lunchtime concert on our Kelburn Campus. Details of the performers and programme will be published here when they are confirmed. The concert will run from 12.10 – 1:00pm, is free, and the public are welcome to attend.

Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music is a joint enterprise of Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington.
