Te Koki, New Zealand School of Music, in partnership with the New Zealand International Piano Festival and the Lewis Eady Charitable Trust, is delighted to host a very special concert from Bremen-born Konstanze Eickhorst.

The concert from Konstanze is the only NZIPF event happening outside of Auckland. Her concert programme will be:
Sonata in a minor, K.310 Mozart
Fantasy in C Major, Op.15, (D.760) “Wanderer” Schubert
Fantasia in c minor, K.475 by Mozart
Sonata in c minor, D.958 Schubert

Konstanze takes great pride in having three different professional faces: she is a much sought-after recital pianist, a chamber music performer, and a dedicated teacher.

As a solo pianist, she has a long list of awards and tributes that include first prizes in the highest-ranked competitions such as the Clara Haskil Competition and the Géza Anda Competition. In addition to a very full live-performance career, she has recently made two CDs for the highly-rated CD label Genuin of Leipzig. The first of these concentrates entirely on music by Mozart, and the second on the music of Schubert. These are the two composers who will feature in her concert for NZSM and NZIPF, and her obvious command of the repertoire will make for an exciting and authoritative listening experience.

'... Konstanze Eickhorst, however, is clearly an artist with an unusual depth of poetic response as well as a superb technician. Not only was her reading practically note-perfect, leonine in strength and convincingly thoughtful, it also exhibited a maturity of emotional conviction.' (Richard Perry, The Whig Standard, Ontario).
