Every Wednesday at the Community Cafe Otahuhu, 225 Great South Road (Opposite Police Station). Open Mic has never been easier, with the community and partnering groups coming together to host this event.
Run by NZ reggae band Three Houses Down, The Good Seed Trust and Affirming Works. This open mic is designed to drive and fund our youth mentoring programmes in highschools around South Auckland.
The Cafe is open and serving up a superb dining experience with coffees and non-alcholic beverages (dry site). We strongly promote a safe environment for the community to come together and showcase the exceptional talent.
We alternate between a full live band (instruments available) and unplugged (acoustics with sound desk). Where spoken word (poetry) and other forms of performance art take to the stage. A live DJ is available for backing tracks if required.
The open mic evenings can boast of both local and international famed musicians like; Three Houses Down, Sammy J, Ria, Swiss, Teki, Sammielz, J Williams, Finn the Groovah, Dei Hamo, Spawnbreezie, TJ Tautoa, Lavina Williams, Ria Hall, Adeaze, Grace Ikenasio, Indira Moala, Psalms, Rizvan plus much more.
Please be sure to check out Facebook status for latest on events at CommunityCafe.
