The Auckland Opera Studio presents Pene Pati the amazing young Auckland singer who has invited his friends to join him for a recital in the Auckland Town Hall for a night that will be remembered by all those lucky enough to get tickets.

IN 2009 Pene was the NZ Aria winner, In 2010 he was Young Performer of the Year, in 2011 he won the Australian McDonalds Aria and was second in the prestigious Bel Canto competition which in 2012 he returned to Sydney and won. Now in 2013 his career, like his voice, goes from strength to strength. Pene has just completed three months at the Merola Programme in San Francisco This is where the future stars are made. Just getting in to this Programme is a major achievement
The last New Zealander to be accepted into the Merola Programme in San Francisco was now international acclaimed tenor Simon O' Neill.

At the end of the three month programme the reviewers gather to see if there was anybody to notice in this year of mostly American singers, and they fell over themselves talking about Pene Pati "Pati sang, the clear soaring effortless voice, bringing to life Edgardo,( even without an effort at acting) wonderfully musical. And then and then... Pati took the final note with a flawless powerful high D... and held it pure and solid , not a show off, just a Peak moment which seemed to go on for minutes."
A link was then given to the reader of the daily newspaper The San Francisco Examiner to a Pene Pati' your tube performance of two years ago.

The next stage of Pene's career is set to fly.

IN the town hall on October the 8th aloing with Pene will be his brother Amatai Pati, 2012 winner of the Lexus song contest, and his friends Amina Edris , James Ioleu and Marlena Devoe. Marlena and Adris were second and third in the Bel Canto competition last week and together with James are on the finals for the Australia MaDonald Aria which is held in Sydney on 22 September.

This concert will be a showcase of some of New Zealand's best young operatic talent to have emerged in a very long time. This group of young people have voices experience and personalities to ensure a great evening with the accompanist Rosmary Barnes a wide repertoire will covered.

Those who were fortunate enough to attend the concert by Pene and Amatia with Moses Mackay last year will know even thought this is a more formal evening, the talents and personalities of the Pati brothers and their friends will make a night of music which will be talked about for some.
