This March comes the second installment of the all new high quality house music event to hit the Auckland scene!

And we're lucky enough to have the gorgeous No. 1 High Street venue to host the event in again.

Rhythmic Grooves is a high quality upmarket funk laden event full of delicious beats and loops for the sophisticated house connoisseur. Goose bump tingling highs, surreal deep lows, filters & live percussion to accompany an amazing line up of fresh and well known talent from across the Auckland music scene.

Salina-Pearl (DJ):

Salina-Pearl discovered her passion for house music as a child of the late '90s house era. She soon became a regular at iconic north shore hot-spots such as “Fever” where she discovered her passion for the soulful side of house. Heavily influenced by the likes of the local house residents such as DJ Andy Vann, Dean Webb, Sam Hill, Warrick, Dan n Cuz etc. She rapidly gained a wealth of experience and respect in the house community enthusiastically championing her taste in music amongst a rapidly growing social network of DJs and aficionados.

Salina-Pearl moved to create the legendary party brand “Deep Hard n Funky” in 2000 as co-director at just age 18. With her passion for the local industry, love of the music and flair for creative production she saw the brand rise to become one of Auckland's biggest and longest running party nights. In high demand Salina-Pearl organised national tours for hot acts such as “Pnau” “House of Downtown” and “Our House” and co-produced large scale events with Remix Magazine featuring international artists such as “Mateo & Matos” “Eddie Amador” and “Mark Farina” to name a few.

Tim Phin became something of a mentor to her early DJ career often throwing her in the deep end by walking away from the decks forcing her to jump on and mix. With her DJ career spanning 13 years Salina-Pearl has since maintained residencies and played regularly at numerous bars, clubs and premium events in Auckland developing her own flavour of deep and underground house infused with funk and garage sounds of a bygone era. Renowned for her fluid seamless blends and spot on track selection her passionate energetic performances make her a crowd favourite when she’s jamming behind the decks.

Salina-Pearl has several projects and EPs ready to showcase in the coming months. She also has her bi-weekly radio show ‘Manuka Jam’ on Chicago House FM.

Gabriella (DJ):

Originally from Buenos Aires, has been surrounded by music since very young. Influenced by funky '70s and '80s music as well as a strong Latin and Brazilian background. At the age of 13, she would make her own mixed tapes with music recorded from her favorite radio station, and DJed for her friends' house parties. Also, sang in a couple of bands in Buenos Aires, jams in open-mic nights and works on singing projects. Harmonised singing is one of her faves and just as fun as it is blending two songs together!

Gabriella plays Tuesday's Radio Ponsonby from 10pm - 12am. Gabriella stays true to her uplifting tastes, delivering a varied set of energetic grooves, bubbling deep basslines & sweet soulful vibes — ranging from feel good tribal & exhilarating Brazilian grooves to boosting funky Latin House as her signature genre.

Gabriella started at The Supper Club for Acapella (Radio Ponsonby). Now plays in many bars and clubs in the Auckland scene. Her favorite - Spybar. Also played at Cheeky Chicks with Claudia Leeming.

Terry Mather (VDJ):

An all-round creative-slinger, hacking nothing into something, Terry is an artistic engineer with experiences in broadcasting, digital media and atmospheric visual forms. Turning such talents into uses for television and live VJing events over the years. And currently adding Radio DJ to his repertoire as host for 'Bassline Continuum' on Radio Ponsonby 10pm Saturdays, highlighting the lost sounds from the best eras in the dance/electronica music scene.
