Let's welcome the 2013/2014 racing season in style!

There could not be a better day to celebrate the start of the new season than joining us for the 'Coast to Coast' of horse racing - the Rodd & Gunn Great Northern Steeplechase!

The Rodd & Gunn Great Northern Steeplechase and the Meadow Fresh Great Northern Hurdle are two of the most prestigious jumping races on the New Zealand winter racing calendar.

The Rodd & Gunn Great Northern Steeplechase is a gruelling race in which the horses gallop over 6400m, jump 25 fences (which are five feet high!) and race three times up and over the famous Ellerslie Hill.

This raceday is certainly not like any other - Rodd & Gunn Great Northern Day is winter racing at its finest!
