Savouring the Source, a Northland Food and Wine Festival is held at the Bay of Islands Pastoral & Industrial Show.

The festival is a lovely mix of the latest in regional food products, wine, cafes and restaurant chefs. Highlights in our marquee theatre include cooking demonstrations by Northland's leading chefs and the 'Kids Can Cook' Finals along with Wine Options Competition conducted by and supported by Northland Winegrowers Association.

NEW to 2013 The Bay of Islands Blazing Beef B-B-Q Steakout A competition that will see 3 Northland identities pit their B-B-Q skills against 3 locals. Conducted by well known local chef, Mark Oliver, starting at 1pm, this event will be, and will find, a REAL winner

Sample products from Northland's award-winning producers and taste some of Northland’s award-winning wines while enjoying gourmet food prepared by Northland's top chefs. Housed in one giant marquee with a backdrop of the Waimate North Mission Station and the beautiful St John the Baptist Church, while surrounded by the traditional activities of the heritage Bay of Islands P & I Show, this festival is unique fun-filled day out for the whole family.

Contact Hughie Blues, from Paihia and hear about the 'Kids Can Cook' competition, the finals of which are held in the giant marquee before lunch. Be there to participate in the Wine Options quiz over the lunch break. Stay to be entertained by the BOI Chef's cooking theatre and be there for the Bay of Islands Blazing Beef B-B-Q Steakout !
