The next Greytown Music Group concert features the well known saxophone band Saxcess. As usual the concert is at 57 Wood Street, Greytown and all are welcome.
In 2013 Saxcess turns 21 and celebrates by presenting a kaleidoscope of music illustrating the narrative of the fascinating story of Adolf Sax, the inventor of the saxophone.
Members of the group are Debbie Rawson (Soprano), leader and founder of Saxcess; Reuben Chin (Alto); Hayden Sinclair (Tenor); and Graham Hanify (Baritone).
The music covers Saxcess's trade-mark diversity of styles ranging from classical and baroque, to tango, cutting edge contemporary, and jazz. The programme displays a sparkling array of works from Frescobaldi and Handel to Jean Francaix, Ravel, Gershwin and Klezmer composers, to exciting works by contemporary NZ composers such as Robbie Ellis [Mozart Fellow 2012] and the ever popular Gareth Farr.
This concert should be popular so book early by phoning 06 304-9025 (business hours) or 304-9497 (evenings).
Pay at the door but reservations essential.
