In celebration of their highly anticipated new album Delta, Shapeshifter announce a national tour throughout July.

With over a decade at the sharp end of all that is good about NZ electronica, Shapeshifter need no introduction. This is evident by the speed their shows sell-out - the first show at The Powerstation sold out in record time, and now a second and indeed a third show are both on the way to being fully subscribed! There is also now a second show added in Christchurch on Thurs 11th July due to the unprecedented level of early sales.

Joining Shapeshifter in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin are Aaron Tokona's (Weta, Cairo Knife Fight) hotly tipped funk/soul collective Ahoribuzz. Active since 2007 and now expanded to a seven-piece, fourteen-legged funk machine, they have just released the single 'Sugar', which features Hollie Smith on guest vocals. With a live show that has been described as '[like] putting psychedelic pop and rock, funk and jam-band ideas into a blender', the Shapeshifter tour just got even more essential.

Recorded in Berlin, Woodhill and Wellington and incorporating elements of the 'heavy soul' tempered with drum and bass, jazz and funk that fans have become accustomed to, Delta sees Shapeshifter stretch their palette even further, adding club tempo feels and other more slanted elements into the mix, while at the same time pushing the man/machine interface that drives their music to new heights. While there is possibly no such thing as a 'typical' Shapeshifter album, all of their output shares a common thread - a willingness to experiment above and beyond genre confines.
