Two tall ships are visiting the Capital this week and the public have the chance to go on board.

The STS Young Endeavour and STS Lord Nelson have sailed down from Auckland after appearing in the Auckland Tall Ships Festival.

STS Lord Nelson is the first tall ship to be designed and built to be sailed by people of all physical abilities. Special features include wide decks for wheelchair users, a speaking compass to enable blind people to helm the ship, and power assisted hydraulic steering for those with limited strength.

The STS Young Endeavour provides training voyages for young Australians as part of a youth development scheme.

Both ships will be berthed at Queens Wharf, on the outer T and will hold open days. The Lord Nelson on Wednesday 6 & Thursday 7 November and the Young Endeavour on Sunday 10 November.
