Welcome to Fiordland's first annual Te Anau Tartan Festival, a 3 day weekend of fun family activities to celebrate the south's Scottish roots!

Fri (7.30pm): Connoisseurs of the amber bead are invited to join us at Te Anau Lodge for a tasting evening - which will include haggis & the "Southland Whisky Tasting Championships".

Sat (9.30am-4pm): Dress up & experience a Highland Games, complete with bagpipes, Highland dancing, Highland heavyweigh competition (for all ages & teams), hosted on the grounds of Te Anau Lodge. Sat evening: Bring your musical instruments & dancing shoes for a "Highland Hoedown" (Ceilidh style jam session) at the Te Anau Club.

Sun: Activities move to Te Anau Airport where the feature event will be the 1 mile "Flying Scotsmen" race - in kilts! You will also be able to view the fully restored Jean Batten Clipper DC3 and watch some of NZ's best glider pilots in action.
