This Autumn Rachel Dawick ( brings you her musical tales of NZ Pioneer Women in an exciting pre-release nationwide show with internationally acclaimed musician Jon Sanders ( and special guest artists Dave Khan (The Broadsides) and Andy Laking (Grada) appearing for some of the concerts.

‘The Boundary Riders’ tour follows the journey of a range of infamous characters whose names largely unknown in our history pages reveal stories that would slip easily into any Wild West Adventure Book. From prostitutes to missionary wives, goldminers to magicians, these beguiling tales of conquests, survival, persistence, and the merging of peoples and cultures from far distant lands have all given birth to New Zealand as we know her today.

Rachel Dawick is a New Zealand musician who has performed around New Zealand and overseas for the past nine years. Her voice has been described as merging the grit of Mary Gauthier, the lilt of Joan Baez and the depth of Natalie Merchant.

In 2010 Rachel returned to New Zealand after 8 years in the UK to develop a project researching women’s lives in the 1800s and turning those into songs which now comprise two albums – the first, entitled The Boundary Riders Part 1: A Quiet Revolution, is to be released on 19th September 2013, the day that the bill was passed extending the vote to New Zealand women. A special pre-release tour with Jon Sanders and guests will take place across New Zealand in April and May to introduce these songs.

As part of the pre-release tour Rachel will be releasing a new acoustic album (featuring Jon Sanders and Dave Khan) that includes 10 tracks of previously unreleased originals and two tracks from the coming Boundary Riders album as a taster of things to come.
