"...a powerful night at the theatre... it's fine playwriting and beautifully realised performance. Frighteningly Pinteresque. It's excellent work..." - Lexie Matheson (Theatreveiw)

Written and produced by Chris Molloy for The Native Factory and Indigenous Theatre Group, Directed by Kate-Louise Elliot. The Last Taniwha tells the story of a night of adventure for two mischievous young boys, Moko and Guts, that ends up in an appalling act of bloodshed. Twenty years later, with the scars from that night still fresh, they meet again. It seems an ancient taniwha's curse is still very much alive in the town where they grew up.

"The mythological saga is expertly interwoven with a modern day story. Chris Molloy's first play establishes a distinctive voice and introduces a writer with enormous potential." - Paul Simei-Barton (New Zealand Herald)

"It's very, very funny. There are moments when you'll catch yourself hooting and, at the same time, thinking "I can't laugh at that!" but you will, and that's part of the message." - Lexie Matheson (Theatreview)
